Tintin - so very British !
The UK is one of the many countries that Tintin visits on his adventures ; it is also one of the countries that Hergé travelled to, although the author never quite managed to keep up with his little reporter !
The last issue of English magazine Country Life (8 September) published a fine article entitled 'Why Tintin was so British', written by journalist and celebrated Tintinologist Michael Farr.
There is something surprisingly English about the globetrotting reporter Tintin and his creator Hergé, opens Farr. The author of Tintin : The Complete Companion, goes on to write about the creator of Tintin's love for Great Britain, quoting Hergé's own assertion that he imbibed his Anglophilia with 'his mother's milk'.
Organisers of Tintin-themed holidays, On the Go Tours, have posted a link to the article on their website, which you can access :

And the close relationship between Tintin and the UK carries on! Many of the lead actors in the upcoming Spielberg/Jackson film The Adventures of Tintin : Secret of the Unicorn (release scheduled Christmas 2011), are British !
