Haddock’s 80th Birthday!
Billions of blue blistering barnacles – our dear Haddock is eighty already! And, after all this time, he remains the most beloved character in Hergé’s iconic Tintin series, with new generations discovering his grouchy ways and ingenious catchphrases, every day across the world.

From his first appearance in The Crab with the Golden Claws in 1941, Haddock’s charm and loyalty has won the hearts of Tintin’s devoted readers, so much so that, as Tintin’s creation continued, his presence in the series became greatly anticipated. Adventure after adventure, the Captain’s bad-tempered, quick-witted character became instantly recognisable, not to mention his black bushy beard, his trusty cigar, and who can forget – his whisky!
So, in the spirit of the new year, let us celebrate this occasion in pure Haddock-style and raise our glasses to our one-of-a-kind Captain, to whom we wish the happiest of birthdays!
