Marlinspike Hall smaller than life
Discover the making of the impressive 1/10th scale model of Marlinspike Hall.

From 1943 onwards, Marlinspike Hall will become Captain Haddock's home base. This magnificent residence will bring together the main characters of The Adventures of Tintin, such as Snowy, Thomson and Thompson, Professor Calculus , Castafiore, Nestor, as well as many occasional and sometimes inappropriate visitors.
Therefore it was appropriate to present this mythical place during the creation of the HERGÉ exhibition, inaugurated on 28 September 2016 in Paris at invitation of the Grand Palais. A first 1/10th scale model of Marlinspike Hall was modelled for the occasion. More than 300,000 visitors were able to admire this meticulous work. Captain Haddock's miniature home then travelled around the world just like Tintin and his friends.
Today, a second exhibition "Tintin and Hergé" is being prepared and a new model will soon see the day.
The dimensions and materials are identical, but the production of a model is unique. Each element is carefully created by hand, and a model of this size represents hours of work and patience.
